A practical learning guide
Learn Latin words, roots and grammar
Read Latin dictionary forms, find a word from an inflected form, and connect Latin roots to English vocabulary. Study noun declensions and model verb conjugations, then check your recall.
Start with a word
The app has 30,446 Latin entries. Search a word, read its definition and dictionary forms, then follow its root links. Accents are optional in search. For example, search amo to find amō, or amavit to find its recorded perfect active form.
Connect a root to a word family
Read the root’s meaning before you guess the meaning of an unfamiliar word. Then compare the dictionary definition. Words can change meaning over time, so a root is a useful clue rather than a complete definition.
Read forms in context
Grammar charts label each form. Compare one row or tense at a time. Read the grammatical label, cover the answer, and try to recall it before you reveal it in the app.
Save and review
Save words that you want to learn. Use Study to reveal an answer and select Forgot, Knew it, or Easy. The app schedules your next review. Your saves and progress stay in this browser; the Greek and Latin addresses keep separate progress.
